Engine 22 was custom built with an aluminum body. E-22 is a pumper with 1,000 gal. of water, 80 gal. of fire suppression/Haz-Mat foam and a mid-mount 1,750 GPM (gallon per minute) single stage Waterous pump, powered by a Cummins Diesel. E-22 is fully equipped for Structural Firefighting, Life Rescue and Hazardous Material (Haz-Mat) responses. This includes equipment such as: Air Packs (S.C.B.A), Flashlights, Thermal Imaging Camera (T.I.C), Chimney Fire Equipment, Ventilation Fans, Chain Saws, Roof Saws, Axes and Halligans (IRONS), Fire Extinguishers, Ground Ladders, Ropes, Stokes Basket, Back Boards, Hurst Extrication Tool (Jaws of Life), Heavy Lifting Air bags, Vehicle Stabilization Winch, Haz-Mat Equipment: Fluid Absorbing Booms, Pads, Speedy-dry, Gas Detection Meters, Plug 'N Dike kit, and 80 Gallons of Class: A/B foam. Traffic Cones, road flares and a variety of other hand tools.
Engine 22 is capable of supplying water from Static sources (Lakes, Ponds Etc.) as well as pressurized hydrants, and can function as either a 'Supply' engine [strictly gets water to the scene] or 'Attack' engine [on scene, pumps water to the hose line(s)]. E-22 is equipped with over 2,000? of hose and can flow water out of a remote controllable roof mounted master stream. E-22 is also equipped with both an on board and portable generator to power its truck mounted telescoping high intensity scene lights and anything else that requires portable electricity. One thing that makes this truck unique to the Town of Brookfield is the Foam Pro System. This system allows a pump operator, with the simple push of a button to supply firefighters with a water/foam solution. This greatly aids in the 'knock down' of any fire, but is mandatory when battling any fire fueled by a Hazardous Material, or when the spill of a flammable liquid is present.
